So, you thought maybe it would be a good idea to stay home, teach those Republicans a lesson, let them lose in 2006 and then come back in 2008. This is such a stupid idea, I don't even know how it first got going. But there is even a bigger reason ... Nancy Pelosi. For one, if the Republicans lose control of the House, the next Speaker will be Speaker Pelosi. Do you really want Nancy Pelosi to be third in line for the Presidency? I sure don't. However, there is even another reason, almost as important, as detailed by Curiouser and Curiouser.
Buh-Bye, Nancy (And Howie)
In a piece by Robert Novak at TownHall.com, he observes:
WASHINGTON -- Talk is increasing among House Democrats that if they fail to regain control after 12 years of a Republican majority, Rep. Nancy Pelosi should be replaced as the party's leader in the House.
If Democrats recapture the House, Pelosi surely will be the first female speaker in the nation's history. But Republican strategists are posing that possibility as a reason for voting Republican, and she will be widely blamed as a San Francisco liberal if there is a Democratic failure in November. Pelosi's colleagues complain about her public performances, especially on NBC's "Meet the Press" May 7
How bad was her "performance" on MTP? Here are some snippets of the transcript, which you can read here.

It’s been pretty easy finding articles about how upset the base is with Republicans, but it’s been alot tougher reading articles that talk about how split the Democratic Party is. Here’s one that fits that bill.
