I still miss you Daddy. Your infectious laugh, your practical jokes, your time and attention, your mentoring, although I just thought it was called "Daddy Rules" back then. You were my best friend, my "partner in crime," my supplier of 5-scoop ice cream cones and trips to see Punxatawney Phil, the provider of some of my best memories. Thanks for allowing me to win occasionally, but not all the time. Thanks for protecting me from Billy Bully down the street and then teaching me how to stand up for myself the next time. Thanks for teaching me how to fish and how to use power tools and fix things even though I'm a girl, and thanks for teaching me all about football and other sports. Thanks for all those times you went out of your way to take me to ice skate, swim, the circus, and other fun things. Thanks for all those mornings you drove me to school when I missed the bus. Thanks for that little ball of fur you brought home as a surprise and we named "Jinks," she lived a long and happy life and saw your only grandson born. And most of all, thanks for making me feel special and the most loved little girl ever born.
To everyone ... hug your Dads today while you can.
