Things are not always as the left wing media want you to believe they are. We have seen it so many times in the last few years, you would think we would have learned by now. And if the public hasn't learned, you would at least think that Members of Congress would know better, especially those who use their own military service as cover for their remarks, like senile John Murtha.
Sweetness and Light brings us information today well worth reading and considering before jumping to even further conclusions:
Did Marine Photographer Have A Personal Motive?
Yet another accuser in the Haditha story turns out to have somewhat suspect motives. This time it’s Lance Cpl. Roel Briones, who claims to have been ordered to photograph the victims bodies.
While there, check out some of S&L's other links as well. Great coverage of this story.
And from Ace of Spades:
Not So Fast On Haditha
Good piece about what is known, and not known, about the alleged "murders in cold blood."
I didn't know this-- the media keeps using quotes from two American servicemen about the killings, but neither of whom was there at the time. One had been evacuated due to being wounded in the IED attack before the engagement; the other was just around later to move bodies. While both speculate as to the attack, neither saw anything. And yet the media tends to report their words as if they're first-hand accounts.
In the absence of clear facts, most people know that a rush to judgment serves no one. What word, then, properly characterizes the recent media coverage of Haditha, when analysis stretches beyond shotgun conclusions to actually attributing motive and assigning blame? No rational process supports a statement like: We dont know what happened, but we know why it happened and whose fault it is.
