I don't like John Kerry and I have not liked John Kerry since my husband returned from a year serving with the Mobile Riverine Force, Mekong Delta, 1967-1969. I began to despise John Kerry in 1972-73 after his disgraceful Congressional testamony that had a direct and negative backlash to my own 7 year old son. I've detailed these grievances at length in the past. I know from experience that I have lots of support from other military families regarding our view of John Kerry. And now he is back at it.
According to a post at Mudville Gazette, John Kerry's campaign removed a link to one of the most childish of all liberal blogs during the 2004 campaign due to a very insensitive(disgusting) remark by one of the commenters on the killing of the contractors on the Fallujah bridge. And another commenter sets the tone:
Liberals shouldn't pretend to be in favour of the military (as a concept most liberals are instinctively against it) when we aren't. The military are 'special cirucmstances' - men who must do a dirty job when all other opportunities and options are exhausted. They aren't men to be lionised and put on a pedestal - they're like toilet cleaners: it's a dirty job, but someone's gotta do it. There's nothing brave or noble about it - it's a dirty, degrading, inhuman affair, but one which is occasionally necessary.
But, true to the John Kerry Flip-Flop tradition, he has "reported for duty" with this same group and is now a featured writer for their "kiddie blog."
After 30 years as a military wife, I can say categorically that one thing you can say about "toilet cleaners" ... we know crap when we see it ... and this is it.
